  • Job Description: Southern Heights Christian Church (southernheights.co), averaging 55 pre-covid, is seeking a full-time minister to preach the Word, equip the church, and reach the lost for the glory of God.

We are hopeful that the next man God calls to lead us can provide continuity through expositional preaching but also in reaching our community with the saving gospel of Jesus Christ. In short, we are seeking a man who can “preach the word in season and out of season” (2 Tim 4:2) and wisely lead us into greater Christlikeness to reach our community.

Current Minister's Note: "As the current preacher, I could not have asked for a more loving and generous church! They gave me a chance when I was young and inexperienced. They patiently endured my failings, and they cheered my successes more than I deserved. I am so thankful to God for giving me to them and them to me. I am so excited for you, the next pastor to get to know and care for this wonderful flock."

    The Qualifications:
    - Biblically qualified (1 Tim 3; Titus 1)
    - A committed follower of Jesus himself (1 Pet 5:1-5) with a rigorous commitment to the spiritual disciplines.
    - The right fit for our church’s culture, context, needs, and expectations (Acts 6)
    - A leader who can fit into our current church and lead us forward, especially in outreach
    - Committed to an Elder-Rule model for church (see John Macarthur’s The Master’s Plan for the Church)
    - An expositional preacher (see David Helm’s Expositional Preaching)
    - Able to build bridges with people from varying theological backgrounds within the evangelical tradition, understanding the non-denominational nature of Southern Heights as an independent Christian church

Compensation: 35,000 to 45,000 for salary, based on experience

    Application Process:
Please look over this job description and the church website. Along with your resume please answer these questions:

Why do you believe that you might be a good fit as the Preacherr at SHCC?

Describe your experiences in ministry and how you may be qualified to serve as the Preacher at SCHC?

In just a few sentences, please give a summary of your theology and how that is in line with the beliefs of SHCC?

We employee three full-time staff members – an Associate Minister, Student Minister, and Administrative Assistant – and one part-time Worship Director. Our current model includes 10 teams, mostly lead by volunteers, under which much of the ministry of the church is conducted: students, kids, worship, adult groups, missions, finance, connections, hospitality, property, safety.

MCCers are praying fervently in anticipation of a new leader. It is our desire to enable a fellowship that produces unity under the banner of Christ, where we can “rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn” (Romans 12:15) that through our worship, programs, and relationships we are caused to walk evermore closely with Jesus, to love our neighbors well, and to show others the path to the foot of the cross. We seek a pastor with an abiding and evidential love for God and people, and a sacred calling to lead them to Him.

  • Job Description: Christ's Mission Church (a New Testament Christian Church) is seeking a preaching evangelist to work alongside the current preaching evangelist to help the church transition after a 33+ year ministry. This position involves, but is not limited to, preparing and preaching sermons each Sunday, overseeing the four evangelistic ministries of the church along with making personal visits on all new guests of the church.

The church is 35 years old, located in St. Robert, MO just three miles north of Fort Leonard Wood, a U.S. Army training facility. The church completed its third building phase in 2020 - a 200 seat auditorium with a foyer, three nurseries, and five offices. Phase one was completed in 1997 - a multi-purpose building that was initially used as a worship auditorium and classrooms plus a kitchen but has now been opened up as a fellowship hall/gymnasium. Phase two was completed in 2008 and is an education wing consisting of a Sunday School office, a children's church room and thirteen classrooms.

The church has an active membership of 115 with an average Sunday morning attendance of approximately 140. Sunday School averages approximately 75 people. Most of our members are retired military, active military or federal government employees, and our members' ages range from 1 month old to 91 years old.

Christ's Mission Church, or CMC as it is affectionally known, was founded upon outreach to the military community and their dependents, but our mission is to spread the gospel to all. Although, we have a good-sized core congregation, we tend to have regular turnover due to our military members.

The church stresses that its members live out their Christianity and be involved in ministry. There are 22 official active ministries, each led by a ministry leader (deacon). We emphasize supporting missions financially around the world. We also place a huge importance on Christians being Biblically educated, therefore we have a full-time Christian Education Director who oversees the Children's Church ministry, the Sunday School program, and our mid-week home Bible studies. Currently we have five elders who shepherd the church and oversee the remaining ministries.

Nestled amongst the foothills of the Missouri Ozarks, the communities of St. Robert, Waynesville, and Fort Leonard Wood provide a home to Christ's Mission Church. They provide an ideal semi-rural setting with many of the conveniences of a much larger area. We are centrally located between St. Louis, Springfield, and Jefferson City. It is approximately a 45-minute drive to the Lake of the Ozarks. This area has an abundance of outdoor activities. Fort Leonard Wood is home to all four branches of the United States Military with a large permanent party as well as a larger transitory population.

If you would be interested in working with this challenging ministry, please email committee@christmissionchurch.com with a resume and a recent sermon. To learn more about the church go to www.christmissionchurch.com.
